Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later. I think every artist (who didn't start out as an abstract artist) has a yearning to escape now and then into that world. I have bordered on it for years working in abstract representational, but sometimes I just want to get that "representational" word out of it. So....I started a sketch book called "The Abstract Book" and it is a place I can go and remove all thoughts and pre-conceived ideas about anything and just start painting, glueing and sewing. I have had a ball!! And what has been amazing to me is that before I finish each piece, there is a title floating around in my head. Sometimes the title fits and sometimes not, but this is an excercise in "letting go", so I'm just going with it. I highly recommend it to all my frustrated artist friends out there, especially those of us who do this for a living. It has been freeing to me to the point that I am now actually putting my toe in the water, so to speak, and am actually going to present 3 small ones at my next show in St. Louis. We will see what happens! I would love to have feed back on what ya' think. On my website you can check out my 3 pieces for sale under "Squares"
